Next time, just take it (whatever it may be) to the train station in Memphis and have them ship it to me in Jackson. Tell me what you need/want and I will get it here for you. The place here in town that I go to (unless it's a dealer ONLY piece), will get the part in THREE days flat. The only slowdown is if it's a popular item, it may be on backorder from their supplier. I got the tires for my Intruder and Stef's Savage in three days, and mounted/balanced the same day while I waited.

I asked the Suzuki shop how long it would take to get an air filter in for a '97 Savage...answer: What does it look like? The Counter guys don't know Jack $H!T.

The first time I tried to remove Stef's gas tank, I figured there MUST be an easier way than removing the petcock! So, I called the Suzuki shop and one of the Counter pukes answers the phone. I asked to speak to a wrench, (because they are the ONLY ones that know what's going on in the back). He told me that they were all tied up, and that maybe he could help me. I thought, "What have I got to lose?" So I asked him how to remove the Savage tank without removing the petcock. He wanted to know why I needed to remove the tank. I told him to change the spark plug. He asked why the tank had to come off to change the plug. I hung up the phone.

The point is, the guys at the counter are hired and trained by the managers/owners of the dealership, not by Suzuki. They don't have to know anything about the particular motorcycles that are being sold there (apparently!) I used to have patience with them, but now I just ask for a wrench if it's a technical/mechanical problem that isn't covered in my service manual. The only time I talk to the Counter guys is to order dealer ONLY parts. And then, I call all over the state to see who can get it to me first.
